create for good.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Marisa Marco, a Metro Detroit–based designer and creative leader who believes in clear communication, honest storytelling, and work that actually serves people. I bring a strategic, thoughtful approach to brand and design, whether I’m building campaigns, shaping narratives, or helping organizations connect with the audiences who matter most.

I began my career in advertising in Chicago, working at large agencies and brands including FCB and Walgreens, as well as a small, women-owned WBENC-certified agency. That experience gave me a strong foundation in strategy, storytelling, and execution at scale. In 2015, I moved to Detroit, inspired by the city’s momentum and driven to put my skills toward work that felt more personal and impactful.

Since then, I’ve led creative and marketing in-house for Detroit-based nonprofits and community organizations, including Humble Design and Downtown Boxing Gym Detroit (DBG), and partnered with more than eight local nonprofits and public-sector organizations. Across all of my work — from traditional advertising to mission-driven design — my focus is the same: clarity, accessibility, and creating work that connects, resonates, and motivates action.

At the core of everything I do is a simple belief: good design should be easy to understand, hard to ignore, and meaningful in the real world.
